The Story Behind the Design
In folklore the hare is bound to the moon, a creature of transformation and liminality -appearing at the turning of the seasons, slipping between worlds.
This engraved design shows the hare mid-leap beneath a crescent moon formed of interwoven snowflakes. His fur dissolves into flakes towards his back legs, with smaller stars of frost trailing behind him. Look closely and the lines shift between realism and dream, the hare as both animal and symbol, forever tied to winter’s night sky.
