Engraved Masonic Firing Glasses

Firing glasses offer a compact but clearly defined surface for engraving, where precision and layout are key.
Each design is prepared to make full use of the available area, with careful consideration given to spacing, proportion, and the limits of the glass.
Engraved by hand in our Fife studio, compositions are developed to sit cleanly within the form, allowing for a more complete and balanced result

From Artwork to Engraving

Each commission follows the same studio process, from artwork preparation and proof approval through to hand sandblasting and finishing in our Fife workshop.

Artwork Preparation

A digital proof is provided for approval before engraving.

Traditional Sandblasting

Each piece is engraved by hand using traditional sandblast techniques.

The Story Behind the Collection

The smaller format of a firing glass requires a considered approach, particularly where traditional layouts are constrained by die lines.
Designs are adjusted to extend beyond standard placements where appropriate, allowing for a larger and more resolved engraving while maintaining clarity.

The result is a composition that makes full use of the glass, holding both detail and balance within a compact form.
