The Story Behind the Design

A hand engraved stag formed from flowing lines and scattered stars, inspired by the constellations that have guided stories, travellers and imaginations for centuries.

Across northern skies, constellations have long provided both direction and wonder. They transform points of light into stories, inviting each generation to see familiar shapes among the stars.

This engraving imagines the stag as one of those celestial figures. Its body is formed from flowing lines that echo the paths between stars, while its antlers dissolve into the night sky itself. The composition explores the idea of a creature emerging from starlight, suspended between nature and imagination.

Created for the Winter Spirits collection, the design celebrates the quiet clarity of winter nights and the enduring relationship between the landscape below and the heavens above.

Developed specifically for glass, the composition preserves movement and clarity while allowing the finer details to emerge as light moves across the engraved surface.
