The Story Behind Your Design

A bold, substantial tankard created to honour your lodge, engraved in close collaboration with you. Each piece begins with your own lodge crest or badge, and we prepare the layout by hand so that every element sits clearly and with purpose. Some crests work beautifully within the full symbolic border. Others, especially those with a lot of detail, look their best when the crest stands alone, clean and dignified.

Once you send over your crest (or ask us to check our archive), we’ll guide you through the best composition for your design. You’re welcome to add personalisation such as suffix, name, rank, or year to mark an installation, celebrate service, or create a thoughtful gift for a visiting brother. Together, we’ll create a piece that feels right for your lodge and the occasion.

What Makes It Special

  • Central engraving based on your supplied lodge crest or badge
  • Layout prepared collaboratively to ensure the clearest, most balanced result
  • Optional personalisation:
    • Suffix + Name
    • Rank
    • Year
  • Where suitable, the design may include a border of:
    • Masonic Working Tools
    • Acacia leaf detailing
    • Star of David
    • Corner-mounted Square & Compasses
  • Traditional sandblasted finish for a deep, permanent engraving

How We’ll Work Together

Every crest is different. Once you email your artwork (or ask us to check our archive), we’ll create a digital mock-up showing the layout that best suits your design. If your crest has room for the full symbolic border, we’ll incorporate it. If a simpler composition will give a clearer, more dignified engraving, we’ll guide you towards that instead. You always approve the final layout before engraving begins.

  • Weighty tankard with a generous handle and strong presence

About Your Glass

This classic beer tankard combines a sturdy handle, generous capacity, and a distinctive star-moulded base for a traditional pub feel with a refined edge. Perfect for ales, lagers, or ciders, it has a satisfying weight in the hand and a smooth surface ideal for engraving. Each tankard is individually masked, sandblasted, and polished by hand in our Fife studio. Simpler designs take around 30–40 minutes, while personalised or intricate artwork extends that quiet, careful process to ensure a crisp, permanent satin finish.

Personalisation Guidelines

We include up to 30 characters of complimentary engraving underneath the design (including spaces). This ensures your message sits comfortably and remains legible beneath the artwork.

As part of this service, we’ll send one digital layout preview for approval before engraving begins. If you need a little more, additional characters are charged at 30p each, and any further layout previews are £2.50 each.

We always aim for a layout that balances beautifully and suits the shape of the glass, but final positioning is at the discretion of the studio.

Please note: Complimentary engraving is placed on the same side as the design. For alternative layouts or engraving on the reverse, please contact the studio before placing your order.

A note on returns

Once a piece includes any personalisation (even complimentary characters) it becomes made just for you and is non-returnable unless faulty. Please double-check names, dates, and spelling before you confirm.

Artwork Approval

Before engraving begins, you’ll receive a digital proof of your layout. Please check all spelling, dates, names, punctuation, and design placement carefully.

Engraving is completed exactly to the approved proof, and any errors not flagged at the approval stage (including spelling) are the customer’s responsibility. Re-engraving or replacement costs may apply.

Delivery & Returns

We carefully pack each order in eco-friendly materials wherever possible. Orders are sent via Royal Mail Tracked delivery, with standard UK delivery typically taking 2–4 working days from dispatch (excluding Sundays and public holidays).

Our Technique

Our traditional sandblast engraving delivers crisp detail, deep texture, and a tactile satin finish that stands apart from laser or transfer methods. Hand-engraved in our Fife studio using single-use stencils, each piece is prepared, blasted, and polished by hand for exceptional sharpness and permanence.

How it’s done:

  1. Artwork is refined as a vector for clean, precise lines.
  2. A UV-exposed stencil is created for single-use masking.
  3. Stencils and tape are applied to the glass by hand.
  4. Each piece is sandblasted by hand for depth and detail.
  5. Finally, it’s cleaned, polished, inspected, and gift-boxed.

A time-honoured process that combines heritage craft with contemporary precision.

A Note on Styling

To showcase the quality of our glassware, some images include bottles, books, or props for styling. These are for context only and are not included. Your purchase is for the glassware only. Unless explicitly stated otherwise (for example, a gift set containing two glasses or a decanter and glasses), each item is sold individually.
