The Story Behind the Design
A detailed mandala centred on the Om symbol, bringing together sacred geometry, symmetry and contemplative design.
The Om symbol has long represented the unity of existence and the search for understanding. Across Hindu traditions it is regarded as the sound from which all creation begins, while the surrounding mandala reflects harmony through repeating geometry and carefully ordered form.
This engraving combines the two into a single composition. The central Om is framed by layers of petals, circles and geometric motifs that draw the eye inward, each repeated element contributing to a sense of rhythm and stillness. Rather than depicting a scene or moment, the design explores the relationship between pattern, symbolism and quiet contemplation.
Engraved with fine detail, the composition celebrates the precision of traditional mandala artwork while adapting it for glass. The result is a design that invites closer observation, where every layer contributes to the whole and symmetry becomes part of the object's character.
