The Story Behind the Design
A stylised lotus design centred on the Om symbol, combining botanical form, lunar phases and sacred geometry in a contemporary engraved composition.
Across many Eastern traditions, the lotus represents growth, renewal and clarity, rising clean from the water despite the conditions beneath the surface. At its centre sits the Om symbol, a timeless emblem associated with unity, awareness and the interconnected nature of existence.
This engraving brings these elements together in a contemporary interpretation rather than a traditional illustration. The lotus is simplified into flowing geometric forms, while suspended beneath it, a sequence of lunar phases introduces another rhythm, reflecting the natural cycles of change, reflection and renewal. The composition is completed with delicate dotted geometry that lends structure without overwhelming the design.
Carefully engraved onto glass, the result is a balanced composition that celebrates enduring symbols through clean lines and thoughtful detail. It is a design intended to invite quiet observation, where each element contributes to a sense of harmony without relying on elaborate decoration.
