About This Bespoke Commission

Children’s drawings have a character of their own, often defined by uneven lines, unusual proportions and small details that make the original immediately recognisable.

The drawing, handwriting or artwork supplied is prepared for the broad engraving area of the celebration bowl with as little intervention as possible. Line weight and spacing are adjusted where necessary for engraving, while the individual character of the original is retained.

Names, dates or a short inscription can be incorporated where appropriate, with the complete layout prepared for approval before engraving.

The 21cm Handmade Tapered Fruit Bowl features a gently widening form that settles into a solid, rounded base. The broad outer wall provides a clean engraving area suited to names, dates or celebratory inscriptions.

Designed for table display and informal presentations, it offers a practical yet considered format for gifting, milestone occasions or shared settings.

Design & Engraving Layout

The artwork is prepared for engraving and arranged as a considered composition for the glass. An Engraving Layout is then shared for review, with one consolidated refinement included within the agreed brief.

Approval, Engraving & Dispatch

Once the layout is approved, the piece is engraved and checked in our Fife studio before being prepared for presentation or dispatch.

For children’s designs, the Bespoke Design Service includes the careful redrawing of your child’s original drawing and handwriting as artwork created specifically for sandblast engraving. The design is developed to engrave clearly while preserving the character of the original.

Before design work begins, you’ll receive a Bespoke Commission Summary setting out the agreed brief, intended finished commission, costs and any applicable Design & Layout Fee. Once commissioned, we prepare the artwork and issue an Engraving Layout for review, with one consolidated refinement included within the agreed brief.

Following written approval of the Engraving Layout, you’ll receive an invoice or private listing for the remaining balance of your commission. Production begins once the remaining balance has been paid.

Approved artwork is retained within our studio archive, making it straightforward to commission additional pieces using the same design. Where the existing artwork can be used without further design work, an additional Design & Layout Fee will not normally apply.
