The Story Behind the Design
An engraved whisky glass featuring Braeriach, one of the highest summits in the Cairngorms, illustrated from the broad plateau and corrie landscape that define this great mountain.
Braeriach rises above the western Cairngorm plateau, its wide shoulders concealing some of Britain's highest cliffs and deepest corries. This design focuses on the mountain's expansive upper slopes, where gentle plateaux give way to steep corrie walls carved by ice over thousands of years.
The engraving captures the scale and openness of the Cairngorm landscape. The drawing is prepared specifically for engraving on glass, preserving the mountain's flowing contours and distinctive terrain while allowing the landscape to reveal itself as the glass is turned.
The engraving is arranged to preserve the character and proportions of the landscape, maintaining clarity and recognisability when engraved.
