The Story Behind the Design

The north face of Ben Nevis viewed from Corpach, where the mountain rises above Loch Linnhe and the Great Glen

This design combines an original mountain illustration with a topographic map to create a personalised piece that records both a landscape and a milestone. Five engraved inscription fields allow names, dates, achievements or memorable occasions to become part of the composition, making every decanter unique to its owner.

Prepared specifically for engraving, the illustration, contour map and personalised details are arranged as a single balanced composition across the face of the decanter. Fine linework preserves the character of the mountain while the engraved inscriptions transform the piece into a lasting record of a place, a journey or a significant achievement.

The engraving is arranged to preserve the character and proportions of the landscape, maintaining clarity and recognisability when engraved.

A short personal inscription may be included with this design. Each engraving is arranged in the studio to suit the composition of the glass.
