About This Commission

Your scooter is photographed and presented as a commissioned framed portrait, created either from your own photograph or from new photography arranged by us. Every commission begins with your machine, whether it is a faithful restoration, a daily rider or a custom build.

The finished portrait is mounted within a high gloss black bevelled frame, which can be engraved with names, dates, rally details or presentation wording. Selected options also include engraving to the glass overlay, allowing photographs, artwork and personalised inscriptions to be combined within a single presentation.

Each portrait is prepared individually in our Fife studio, combining photography, artwork preparation and precision engraving to create a presentation that reflects your scooter and its individual character.

Form & Proportion

A high gloss black bevelled frame presenting a photographic portrait, with personalised engraving to the frame and an optional engraved glass overlay.

The frame and glass treatment are agreed for the individual commission. Dimensions and final composition are confirmed in the Bespoke Commission Summary following assessment.

The Commission Process

Each framed commission begins with the photographs, handwriting, drawings or other material you would like us to bring together. We review the source material, agree the direction and develop the composition around the piece being created.

Request & Assessment

Send us your source material, preferred timeframe and any details you would like included. We assess suitability and agree the scope before design work begins.

Design & Engraving Layout

The selected material is prepared and arranged into a considered composition. An Engraving Layout is shared for review, with one consolidated refinement included within the agreed brief.

Approval, Production & Dispatch

Once approved, the piece is engraved, assembled and checked in our Fife studio before being prepared for presentation or dispatch.

Handwritten signatures, messages and other original material may require our Bespoke Design Service. This covers the interpretation, redrawing, refinement and composition required to prepare the material specifically for sandblast engraving. The design requirements and applicable fee will be confirmed following initial review.

Approved artwork is retained within our studio archive, making it straightforward to commission additional pieces using the same design. Where the existing artwork can be used without further design work, an additional Design & Layout Fee will not normally apply.

The Passion Behind the Product

Because we’re part of this world.

  • Man rebuilding a vespa scooter

    Crafted by Scooterists

Between us, we’ve got decades of experience in our crafts — John’s been engraving glass for over 35 years, and I hold a BA in professional photography. We’re not just doing a job — we’re pouring our skills into something we genuinely care about. This isn’t generic engraving. It’s personal.

  • Three scooterists on a road with trees and vehicles in the background

    Rooted in the Scene

From rally fields to rebuilds, we know this life inside out. John owns two Vespas and restores them from the ground up. I ride a 1956 Vespa named Eliza Moveslittle. We’ve lived the culture for years, and everything we make is shaped by that shared history — the music, the machines, the meaning.

    We Understand

Your scooter isn’t just transport — it’s part of who you are. That’s how we feel about ours too. When we got married, our invites featured John's Vespa... complete with a ball and chain on the back wheel. Every piece we create comes from that same place — personal, considered, and rooted in the culture we love.
