The Story Behind the Design
A Triskelion enclosed within flowing Celtic knotwork, paired with the Gaelic phrase Uisge Beatha, meaning "Water of Life".
At the centre of this design is the Triskelion, an ancient motif of three interlocking spirals found throughout Celtic art and archaeology. Surrounded by continuous knotwork, the engraving combines two enduring symbols of Celtic tradition, where flowing line and repeating forms create a composition without a clear beginning or end.
Beneath the design appears the phrase Uisge Beatha in Scottish Gaelic or Uisce Beatha in Irish Gaelic, both translating as "Water of Life". The expression gave rise to the modern word whisky, linking the design to centuries of shared distilling heritage across Scotland and Ireland.
