The Story Behind the Design

Sir John Tenniel's celebrated illustrations from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, faithfully adapted for engraving onto glass.

Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland has inspired generations of readers, with Sir John Tenniel's original illustrations becoming some of the most recognisable images in children's literature. This collection draws on those celebrated illustrations, carefully adapted for engraving while preserving the character and detail of the original artwork.

Each design can be personalised with names, dates or a short inscription, making it suitable for weddings, engagements, anniversaries and other memorable occasions. Whether chosen for its literary connection or simply for the charm of Tenniel's illustrations, every piece is prepared individually before engraving.

Each engraving is produced using our traditional sandblasting process, creating a crisp permanent finish that preserves the fine linework and detail of the original illustrations.

Line weight and spacing are adjusted to retain definition across finer engraved elements.

Engraving & Personalisation

A short personal inscription may be included with this design. Each engraving is arranged in the studio to suit the composition of the glass.

If your requirements extend beyond the personalisation available on this listing, please get in touch. Longer inscriptions or more complex requirements may require a bespoke quotation.

A Personalisation Layout is provided before engraving so you can check the wording, names, dates and other factual information supplied with your order.

  • Width 65 mm
  • Capacity 400 ml

The Signature wine glass features a gently curved tulip bowl set on a proportionate stem and stable foot. The forward-facing bowl curve provides a clear engraving field, allowing crests, monograms or multi-line text to be positioned with measured spacing and legibility.
