Engraved Guipure Lace Glassware

Distinctive for its bold motifs and strong visual structure, Guipure lace provides the inspiration for this engraved glassware collection. Unlike finer lace traditions, Guipure relies on interconnected decorative forms rather than a delicate mesh background, creating designs with clarity, presence and character.

From Artwork to Engraving

Each commission follows the same studio process, from artwork preparation and proof approval through to hand sandblasting and finishing in our Fife workshop.

Artwork Preparation

A digital proof is provided for approval before engraving.

Traditional Sandblasting

Each piece is engraved by hand using traditional sandblast techniques.

The Story Behind the Collection

The stronger forms and decorative structure associated with Guipure lace translate particularly well to engraving, where clarity and contrast play an important role. Our interpretation adapts these qualities for glass, creating a collection suited to larger engravings, personalisation and commemorative pieces while retaining the character of the lace that inspired it.
