The Story Behind the Design

Masonic collar jewels identify the office held by a member of the Lodge, with the form of the jewel varying according to office and constitution.

This design presents the collar jewel of the Substitute Master under the Scottish Constitution, with the emblem prepared as a clear engraved composition for the firing glass.

Line weight, spacing and proportion are adjusted where necessary so the structure of the jewel remains legible at engraving scale.

A short personal inscription may be included with this design. Each engraving is arranged in the studio to suit the composition of the glass.

Traditional conical firing glass formed in 10% lead crystal, with a weighted base and compact engraving area suitable for lodge crests, insignia and presentation inscriptions.

Designed for ceremonial firing toasts and formal presentation. The compact conical form provides a defined engraving area for detailed artwork, while the solid lead crystal construction gives the glass a reassuring weight and presence.
