A Velociraptor fossil based on palaeontological reference material, celebrating one of the most recognisable predatory dinosaurs of the Late Cretaceous.
Velociraptor lived around 75 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous Period, hunting small animals across the deserts of what is now Mongolia. Although much smaller than popular culture often suggests, it was a fast, agile predator, recognised by its lightly built skeleton, long balancing tail and distinctive enlarged sickle shaped claw on each foot.
This engraved design is based on palaeontological reference material, combining a skeletal reconstruction with a detailed study of the characteristic claw that made Velociraptor one of the most distinctive theropod dinosaurs. Prepared specifically for engraving, the composition balances scientific accuracy with the clarity needed for glass, celebrating one of the defining discoveries of vertebrate palaeontology.
Line weight and spacing are adjusted to retain definition across finer engraved elements.
