About This Commission
A map of Scotland enclosed within a traditional clan crest belt and buckle, framed by hand drawn Scottish thistles.
This design brings together three enduring symbols of Scotland: the map of the country, the the traditional clan crest belt and buckle bearing Scotland's national motto, and a hand drawn arrangement of Scottish thistles. Combined into a single composition, it creates a distinctive celebration of Scotland's heritage and identity.
Prepared specifically for engraving, the map of Scotland is enclosed within the familiar heraldic belt and buckle, while the surrounding thistles add depth and balance to the overall design. The generous engraving area of the tankard allows the complete composition to be reproduced with clarity and detail.
Each engraving is produced using our traditional sandblasting process, creating a crisp permanent finish that preserves the character and fine detail of the original illustration.
The engraving is centred and spaced to maintain balance within the available engraving area.
