About This Commission

A Coat of Arms centred on the principal shield and family name

This engraved pint glass features a Coat of Arms prepared from established heraldic references and adapted for clarity in glass. The design focuses on the central shield and surname, arranged in a clean, balanced composition.

Each design is selected by surname and prepared individually, ensuring the structure and line work remain clear when engraved. Where multiple interpretations exist, the most appropriate version is selected and confirmed prior to production.

The apothecary form provides a broad, uninterrupted surface, allowing the design to sit clearly and proportionally.

Sandblasted by hand in our Fife studio, the finished piece carries a soft, satin-etched surface with depth and clarity.

The engraving is centred and spaced to maintain balance within the available engraving area.

Form & Proportion

Tall 57cl pilsner-style pint glass with straight sides and a clean, contemporary engraving panel.

  • Height 220 mm
  • Width 77 mm
  • Capacity 570 ml

The 57cl pilsner pint glass features a tall, gently tapered silhouette designed to showcase pale beers and preserve a clean head. Its straight vertical sides provide a generous and reliable engraving area with minimal distortion, making it well suited to crests, logos and longer inscriptions.

Fully toughened for durability, this glass is practical for regular use while still offering a balanced, structured presentation for personalised gifts or event pieces.

The Commission Process

Each commission is prepared individually in our studio, with artwork reviewed and approved before engraving begins.

Artwork Review

Artwork Review

We review the crest, insignia or reference provided and assess how it will translate clearly into engraving.

Design & Engraving Layout

Design & Engraving Layout

Where required, artwork is refined or redrawn for engraving. An Engraving Layout is prepared and issued for approval before engraving begins.

Engraving & Finishing

Engraving & Finishing

Once approved, the piece is engraved by hand in our Fife studio and prepared for presentation or display.

Family coats of arms and clan crests vary considerably in their detail and composition. We hold a growing archive of designs already prepared for sandblast engraving, and where suitable artwork is held, no additional design preparation is required.

Where a family name or clan design is not currently held in our studio archive, the artwork will be reviewed and prepared specifically for engraving. Any design fee required will be confirmed in your Bespoke Commission Summary before work begins.

Approved artwork is retained within our studio archive, making it straightforward to commission additional pieces using the same design. Where the existing artwork can be used without further design work, a further design fee will not normally apply.
