This illustration depicts Beinn Dòrain rising above Bridge of Orchy, where its smooth, symmetrical profile has made it one of the most recognisable mountains in the Southern Highlands. Prepared from reference photography and interpreted for engraving, the composition captures the mountain from the broad glen below, preserving the relationship between the summit, the surrounding landscape and the gentle approach that defines this well known view.
Drawn specifically for engraving on glass, the composition simplifies and adjusts natural detail while preserving the character of the mountain.
