Corrour Station sits on the vast expanse of Rannoch Moor beneath the slopes of Leum Uilleim, creating one of the most distinctive and remote railway landscapes in Britain. Reached only by rail, on foot or by bicycle, the station has become closely associated with the wild character of the Central Highlands.
Prepared from reference photography and interpreted for engraving, the composition brings together the station buildings, passing railway and the broad hillside of Leum Uilleim into a single landscape. Careful use of line, contrast and proportion preserves the scale and atmosphere of this remarkable place while creating an engraving that remains crisp, enduring and well suited to glass.
