About This Commission
A Scottish Clan Crest prepared from recognised heraldic references, preserving the character and structure of the original arms
This engraved decanter features a Scottish clan crest prepared from established heraldic references and refined for clarity in glass. The design follows the traditional belt-and-buckle form, with the clan name and motto rendered in clean, legible detail. Thistle elements and supporting ornament are incorporated in a balanced layout beneath the crest.
Each design is selected by surname and prepared individually, ensuring the structure, line work and inscriptions remain clear when translated into glass. Where multiple interpretations exist, the most appropriate version is selected and confirmed prior to engraving.
The decanter form allows for a larger, more detailed composition, giving the crest space to sit proportionally and with presence.
Sandblasted by hand in our Fife studio, the finished piece carries a soft, satin-etched surface with depth and clarity.
Additional thistle detailing is incorporated beneath the crest, creating a fuller composition while preserving the structure of the original heraldic reference.
