The Story Behind the Design
The 2 Tone movement developed around Britain’s late 1970s ska revival, bringing together music, fashion and a distinctive black and white visual identity.
This design takes the familiar dancing figure associated with that era and reduces it to a strong graphic silhouette. Sharp tailoring, movement and the checkerboard influence of 2 Tone culture are carried through the composition without overloading the glass.
The figure remains immediately recognisable, with line and spacing adjusted to keep the movement clear at engraving scale.
