The Story Behind the Design
Blossom, garden birds and butterflies gathered within a continuous wraparound engraving inspired inspired by a flowering garden in spring and summer.
Rather than presenting a single central motif, Jardin is engraved as a continuous landscape that flows uninterrupted around the glass. Branches weave naturally across the surface, carrying blossom, garden birds and butterflies that reveal themselves gradually as the object is turned.
The composition is drawn to create the feeling of looking through a living garden rather than at a decorative border. Individual elements are spaced to allow light and the changing contents of the glass to become part of the engraving, while the wraparound arrangement encourages the design to be explored from every angle. Line weight, spacing and proportion are carefully adjusted so the finished engraving remains crisp, balanced and suited to the object it decorates.
Developed as a continuous wrap around engraving, the composition moves uninterrupted around the glass, changing as light passes through.
