Spanning the Firth of Forth, the three bridges represent successive generations of engineering, each reflecting the technology and ambition of its time. Together they form one of Scotland's most recognisable landmarks, linking Fife with Edinburgh while telling the story of changing bridge design across more than a century.
The engraving focuses on the distinctive structural profiles of each bridge. Reduced to their essential forms, the iconic cantilever, suspension and cable stayed designs remain instantly recognisable, creating a clean architectural composition developed specifically for engraving on glass.
The composition is arranged to sit cleanly within the glass, allowing the form to remain legible without crowding the surface.
