The Story Behind the Design
A contemporary engraved whisky glass featuring the distinctive outline of Scotland.
Scotland's coastline gives the country one of the most distinctive outlines on a map. From the more defined southern boundary, the land opens into the deeply indented western coast, the Highlands and the groups of islands beyond.
For this design, the map has been carefully prepared specifically for engraving on glass. The coastline retains enough detail to preserve Scotland's characteristic shape, while very small features have been simplified where required for a clean and durable engraving.
The design makes deliberate use of the clear surface surrounding the map. As the glass is filled and turned, the engraving moves between the transparency of the glass and the colour of the whisky behind it, changing its appearance with use.

The engraving is centred and spaced to maintain balance within the available engraving area.
