The Story Behind the Design
An engraved peacock inspired by the ornamental gardens of Pittencrieff Park, where the peacock's tail gradually unfolds into flowing foliage and feathers
Inspired by the resident peacocks of Pittencrieff Park, this engraving celebrates one of Dunfermline's most recognisable sights through a contemporary interpretation. The bird stands calmly while its tail gradually transforms into flowing foliage, feathers and ornamental forms inspired by the park's gardens.
The composition allows the landscape to become part of the design itself. Leaves, trailing stems and feathers weave together to create a continuous movement across the glass, reflecting both the elegance of the peacock and the character of the gardens it calls home. Developed specifically for engraving, the design balances intricate detail with clarity to create a distinctive interpretation of one of Fife's best loved parks.
Developed specifically for glass, the composition preserves movement and clarity while allowing the finer details to emerge as light moves across the engraved surface.
