More Than a Trophy

Some commissions arrive with a little more weight behind them.

These engraved apothecary bottles were created for a forthcoming scooter ride-out and custom show being organised in support of Sean, a long-standing member of the scooter community who is now living with advanced Alzheimer’s and requires full-time care.

The event is being organised to bring people together around him while he is still able to enjoy the scene he has loved for years. Clubs, solo riders and friends from across Scotland and beyond are being invited to take part, with a route designed to allow L-plate riders to attend as well.

Rather than using a standard off-the-shelf trophy, the organisers wanted something a little more personal to mark the day.

The engraving uses an image of Sean on his Lambretta, framed within a traditional laurel wreath, referencing both classic presentation awards and the scooter rally scene itself. The apothecary bottles were chosen deliberately. They feel closer to something people will keep and use, whether filled with whisky, two-stroke, or simply kept as a reminder of the day, rather than a plaque left sitting on a garage shelf.

The engraved presentation bottles were donated in support of the event and the fundraising efforts around Sean’s care.

Events like this are a reminder that scooter culture has never only been about the machines. At its best, it is also about friendship, loyalty and turning up for people when it matters.
