Six Presentation Awards for Forth Valley College Delegation

We were pleased to prepare a set of six engraved crystal awards for a returning client at Forth Valley College, commissioned for an international delegation visit.

The brief came from Jamie, Global Partnership Manager at the College, who regularly works with us on presentation pieces and formal gifting. For this commission, he wanted the awards to reflect both Scottish identity and the significance of the visit to China.

The central motif was a horse, marking the Year of the Horse, intertwined with flowing Celtic knotwork. The movement of the knotwork also suggested water, creating a subtle connection to Scotland’s Kelpies and the sculptural forms associated with them.

To support the concept, we suggested a faceted crystal award with rising angular forms. Its cut surfaces catch the light with a flame-like quality, giving energy and presence to the finished piece while complementing the movement within the engraving.

Each award was individually prepared in the studio with the College logo and the date of the visit incorporated into the final layout. The result was a coordinated presentation set, rooted in symbolism and prepared for formal exchange.

Repeat commissions of this kind are always appreciated, particularly where design, meaning and presentation need to work together with clarity.
