The Bespoke Process
How each commission is prepared, refined and brought into form.
Each commission begins with a conversation and a set of references, from handwritten notes and sketches to established symbols and emblems.
From there, the work moves through a structured process of artwork preparation, layout and refinement, with a proof issued for approval before engraving begins.
How Each Commission Is Prepared
-
Share Your Idea
Send a reference image or a short description of what you have in mind. This might be a sketch, a photograph, a crest or a set of details to work from.
We’ll review what you provide and advise on what can be achieved in engraving.
-
Artwork Preparation
Your design is redrawn and refined as engraving artwork, with careful attention to proportion, spacing and clarity.
A digital proof is prepared and issued for approval before engraving begins.
-
Engraved With Care
Once approved, the design is masked and sandblasted by hand, producing a crisp, satin finish with depth and permanence.
Each piece is engraved in our Fife studio and prepared for presentation or dispatch.
