Presentation Bowls for Forth Valley College
Share
This commission involved producing a set of five engraved presentation bowls for use at an event in China.
Each bowl combined two distinct elements. The Forth Valley College logo was engraved on one side, while a stag motif from the Entwined Echoes collection was engraved on the reverse.
The stag was selected as a recognisably Scottish symbol, creating a visual connection between the College and its country of origin while remaining suitable for an international audience.
Reference and Layout
The two designs were positioned to sit in balance across the bowl.
The logo was prepared for clarity and legibility, while the stag motif was scaled to suit the curvature of the glass, allowing both elements to read cleanly when viewed from different angles.
Preparation and Engraving
Artwork for each side was prepared separately, then aligned to ensure consistent placement across the full set.
The designs were transferred to stencil and sandblasted to produce a uniform etched finish. Care was taken to maintain consistency across all five pieces.
Outcome
The completed work formed a coordinated set of five presentation bowls, each carrying the same paired design and prepared for formal presentation overseas.
Supplied in satin-lined presentation boxes, the bowls combined institutional identity with a recognisably Scottish motif, creating pieces that could travel internationally while retaining a clear sense of place.
