The Story Behind the Design

An ornate Victorian apothecary label featuring the word "Belladonna", inspired by historic botanical remedies and apothecary jars

The Apothecary & Alchemy collection explores the curious meeting point between Victorian pharmacy, decorative engraving and dark humour. Each design takes its inspiration from the ornate labels once found on apothecary bottles and poison cabinets, transforming them into a playful engraving for contemporary glassware.

At first glance the design appears to be an elegant nineteenth century label, filled with elaborate scrollwork and decorative flourishes. At its centre sits the name Belladonna, creating the familiar question every whisky drinker has heard at least once... "What's your poison?" The result is a piece that combines historical styling with a tongue in cheek sense of humour, making it equally suited to home bars, whisky collections and gifts for those who appreciate a little dark wit.

Line weight and spacing are adjusted to retain definition across finer engraved elements.
