The Story Behind the Design

Scafell Pike, England's highest mountain, rising above the rugged landscapes of the Lake District

Scafell Pike is England's highest mountain, its summit reached by a network of historic paths crossing some of the Lake District's most rugged terrain. The broad plateau of broken stone and surrounding fells have made it a destination for generations of walkers drawn to the character of the high mountains.

Prepared specifically for engraving, this illustration captures the mountain's rocky summit landscape and distinctive profile through finely judged linework and texture. The composition preserves the character of Scafell Pike while creating an engraving that reveals new detail as it catches the light.

The composition is arranged to sit cleanly within the glass, allowing the form to remain legible without crowding the surface.

The Glass

Taller tulip-bowled wine glass with elongated stem and refined proportions, offering an expanded engraving field and elevated visual line.

The Atelier wine glass features a taller bowl profile and slimmer stem compared to the Signature version, creating a more elongated silhouette. The additional bowl height provides a larger engraving area, allowing detailed crests, monograms or multi-line inscriptions to be positioned with improved spacing and clarity.

The refined stem and balanced foot contribute to a lighter visual profile while maintaining stability for display and table presentation.
