The Story Behind the Design
Traditional Guipure lace reinterpreted for engraved glassware marking weddings, anniversaries and other significant celebrations.
This design draws inspiration from traditional Guipure lace, recognised for its open structure and finely connected floral motifs. Long associated with celebration, craftsmanship and decorative arts, it lends itself naturally to engraved glass where delicate detail can be translated into crisp, lasting line.
Rather than reproducing textile detail directly, the lace is carefully redrawn as an engraving that preserves its lightness while remaining clear on glass. The design provides an elegant setting for names, dates and personal inscriptions without overwhelming the object itself. Every line is prepared specifically for sandblasting so the finished engraving retains definition, balance and permanence.
Line weight and spacing are adjusted to retain definition across finer engraved elements.
