The Story Behind the Design
The iconic stadium arch and façade of Wembley Stadium, prepared as an architectural study of England's national stadium
Completed in 2007, Wembley Stadium is defined by its sweeping steel arch, a structural feature that has become one of the most recognisable landmarks in modern British architecture.
This illustration captures the relationship between the sweeping steel arch and the stadium's curved façade, simplifying the geometry into a composition that retains the scale and symmetry of the original architecture.
The composition is arranged to sit cleanly within the glass, allowing the form to remain legible without crowding the surface.
