The Story Behind the Design
The third of the Four Morning Drams. An engraved whisky glass featuring the traditional Scots Gaelic expression Deoch Cas Rùisgte, meaning "the bare foot drink", with pronunciation and explanation.
Deoch Cas Rùisgte, meaning "the bare foot drink", refers to the dram traditionally enjoyed before getting dressed. It represents the third stage of the Four Morning Drams.
The design combines the original Scots Gaelic expression with its pronunciation and a brief explanation in a restrained typographic composition. It celebrates a distinctive piece of Highland tradition through the language that preserved it.
The engraving is centred and spaced to maintain balance within the available engraving area.
