The Story Behind the Design

The Vespa GS150 was a turning point in scooter design — graceful, powerful, and packed with mid-century charm. This engraved gin glass celebrates the Gran Sport in all its streamlined glory, featuring a detailed line drawing of the GS150 scooter layered over a bold Mod target background. The outer ring is striped horizontally, the centre solid — a subtle nod to scooter patches and rally traditions. The design is topped with Vespa and finished below with A Way of Life Since 1946, creating a crisp, balanced composition that pairs beautifully with matching pieces in the collection.

About Your Glass

This classic copa de balon gin glass features a generous, rounded bowl, ideal for allowing the botanicals of gin and mixer to open up beautifully. It’s equally suited to artisan cocktails or Belgian-style beers. Each glass is individually masked, sandblasted, and polished in our Fife studio using traditional techniques. Simpler engravings take around 30–40 minutes, while personalised or intricate designs extend the quiet, careful process to ensure a crisp satin finish that will last a lifetime.

As part of this service, we’ll send one digital layout preview for approval before engraving begins. Need a little more? No problem, additional characters are charged at 30p each, and any further layout previews are charged at £2.50 each.

We always aim for a layout that balances beautifully and suits the shape of the glass, but final positioning is at the discretion of the studio.

Please note: Complimentary engraving is placed on the same side as the design. For alternative layouts or engraving on the reverse, please contact the studio before placing your order.

A note on returns
Once a piece includes any personalisation (even complimentary characters) it becomes made just for you and is non-returnable unless faulty. Please double-check names, dates and spelling before you confirm.

Our traditional sandblast engraving delivers crisp detail, deep texture, and a tactile satin finish that stands apart from laser or transfer methods. Hand-engraved in our Fife studio using single-use stencils, each piece is prepared, blasted, and polished by hand for exceptional sharpness and permanence.

How it’s done:

  1. Artwork is refined as a vector for clean, precise lines.
  2. A UV-exposed stencil is created for single-use masking.
  3. Stencils and tape are applied to the glass by hand.
  4. Each piece is sandblasted by hand for depth and detail.
  5. Finally, it’s cleaned, polished, inspected, and gift-boxed.
