The Story Behind the Design

In Scottish Freemasonry, the Past Master’s collar jewel is a symbol of wisdom, service, and leadership gained through time in the Chair. Engraved with the jewel of the Scottish Constitution, Square, Compasses, and Arc of a Circle, this whisky glass offers a refined tribute to those who have guided their lodge. Available on our classic Signature tumbler or elevated Atelier Edition glass, it’s a piece that speaks of tradition, legacy, and enduring craft.

Engraving & Personalisation

A short personal inscription can be included with this design (up to 24 characters).

The inscription is arranged to suit the design and shape of the glass, ensuring a balanced and legible engraving. Final layout and positioning are determined by the studio.

If you would like to include a longer message or additional text, extended engraving options are available. Please contact us for details.

A digital proof is provided for approval before engraving begins. This allows you to check spelling, wording and dates within your personalisation.

Approval confirms the engraving will proceed as shown in the proof.

Minor factual corrections (such as spelling or dates) can be made prior to engraving. Further revisions or additional proofs may incur an artwork charge.

Engraving cannot proceed until written approval has been received.

As each piece is engraved to your specification, personalised orders cannot be returned once artwork has been approved.

Craft & Technique

Each piece is engraved in our Fife studio using traditional sandblasting, a method chosen for its depth, clarity and permanence.

Artwork is prepared specifically for glass, with line weight, spacing and composition refined to suit the material. Designs are then transferred to a precision stencil before being engraved by hand using a controlled stream of fine aluminium oxide.

This process produces a smooth, satin-etched finish with visible depth, allowing detail to remain clear and legible within the form of the glass.

Every piece is checked, balanced and hand finished before presentation.

Further detail on our engraving process is available in our studio method.
