Masonic Engraving

Honouring tradition through precision, symbolism and craft

Our Masonic collection is inspired by the timeless symbols and ceremonial regalia of Freemasonry. Each engraving is created with care, clarity and respect for the traditions it represents.

Working from verified references and historic forms, every design is redrawn by hand to preserve the detail and dignity of Masonic symbolism. From the Square and Compass to jewels of office, working tools and emblems of the Craft and Companion Orders, each piece is engraved with a balanced emphasis on accuracy and elegance. Crafted in our Fife studio, the collection offers thoughtful, enduring glassware for milestones, installations, retirements and moments of quiet pride within the Lodge.

Respectful, Detailed Sandblast Engraving

Masonic pieces often carry symbols of significance, and the engraving process is approached with care and respect. We use traditional sandblasting to achieve a deep, permanent finish that honours the clarity of each emblem, ensuring the detail remains sharp and legible for years to come.

  1. Crests & Symbols Redrawn with Care

Every crest, emblem or ribbon is redrawn as precise vector artwork to preserve the integrity of the original design. Fine lines, curves and symbolic elements are refined to ensure they translate clearly onto glass, while spacing and scale are adjusted for balance on the chosen piece.

  2. Creating the Protective Single-Use Stencil

The artwork is transferred onto a specialist stencil using UV exposure. Each stencil is made for a single engraving to maintain crisp edges and accurate reproduction of detail. It is carefully positioned and burnished by hand so every symbolic element is held securely in place.

  3. Hand-Engraved Using Traditional Sandblasting

Inside the blasting cabinet, a controlled stream of fine aluminium oxide gently cuts into the exposed areas of glass. This method allows us to deepen lines, shape textures and give the engraving a smooth satin finish. Working by hand ensures that each piece retains clarity and character, especially in areas of intricate detail.

  4. Finishing, Polishing & Respectful Inspection

After engraving, the stencil is removed and the piece is cleaned and polished to reveal the final detail. Every crest or emblem is checked for balance, legibility and alignment. Only when the piece meets our studio’s standards is it boxed and prepared for presentation.

For over forty years, sandblast engraving has allowed us to reproduce Masonic symbols with accuracy and respect. Each piece is engraved by hand in our Fife studio, creating a lasting finish worthy of the traditions it represents.
