The Story Behind the Design
In the heart of Dunfermline, Pittencrieff Park — fondly known as The Glen — is home to one of Scotland’s most elegant residents: the peafowl. First introduced to the park in 1905 by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, these iconic birds have become a beloved part of the city’s heritage, recently honoured with the Freedom of the City.
This hand-engraved wine glass captures the peacock in profile, its long, sweeping tail reimagined not in traditional fan form, but as an intricate flow of feathers, leaves, and flowers — a nod to both the resident peafowl and the park’s natural beauty. Crafted with a bold stem and angular bowl, the glass brings a refined elegance to any table or collection.
Each glass is individually hand-engraved using traditional sandblasting techniques for a satin-like, permanent finish that won’t wash, chip, or fade.
