The Emblem That Almost Wasn’t: Why We Double-Check Everything

Not every engraving story goes perfectly from start to finish. Sometimes, the details change halfway through — and that’s exactly why we build in pauses, checks, and approvals at every step.

Last week, we had an order come in for a personalised tankard. The request: an engraved emblem crest with an inscription beneath. We redrew the artwork (as we always do for clarity and sharpness), created a private listing, and once it was approved, the customer completed payment.

Then, the next evening, we got an email....... He’d sent us the wrong emblem.
Thankfully, because we don’t work on autopilot or batch jobs, the tankard hadn’t yet been engraved. Instead of a costly mistake, it was simply a redraw. We prepared the correct version, updated the mock-up, and got it right, all without extra charge.

Why This Matters

In mass production, once you click “buy,” it’s often out of your hands. But with us, your order is personal. Every piece is reviewed, drawn up, and approved before it ever touches the engraving cabinet. That means if something changes, even at the eleventh hour, there’s usually a chance to catch it.
It’s slower. It’s more involved. But it means you get what you truly wanted, not just what got sent first.

Every piece we engrave tells a story, and sometimes, it’s the ones with last-minute plot twists that remind us why we do it this way.
